The number of complete stroke cycles during swimming.
For freestyle and backstroke, each arm pull is counted as one stroke. For breaststroke and butterfly, each complete two-arm pull is counted as one stroke.
Unit: strokes.
Stroke frequency
Average number of strokes per minute during swimming.
Unit: strokes/minute.
SWOLF
A combination of "Swim" and "Golf", used to measure swimming efficiency. It reflects the relationship between speed and stroke count. Over a distance, fewer strokes and faster speed result in a lower SWOLF score, indicating higher swimming efficiency.
SWOLF = Time for one lap (seconds) + Stroke count for that lap
Laps
The number of lengths swum in a pool. Swimming from one end to the other is counted as one lap and a round trip counts as two laps.
